Learning Initiatives

Maine is seeking to improve technology tools available to students in middle and high schools, and for teacher Professional Development via the Maine Learning Technology Initiative (MLTI). This initiative began back in 1999-2000, and has to continued to try to make good use of technology in schools. Maine has also taken on a proficiency-based grading initiative, and as of July 10th, 2018 Maine law allows a proficiency-based, or credits based diploma for graduation.
